CHLOE LIM
Chloe Lim Min (b. 2000) is a Singaporean student artist. She is a graduate of McNally School of Fine Arts, Diploma Programme at LASALLE College of the Arts on the Tan Chay Bing Scholarship. She had previously been enrolled in Singapore Chinese Girls’ School in the GCE O-Level Track, graduating with a distinction in Art in 2016.
Chloe draws inspiration from personal experiences, using them to expand and explore themes of social controversies, identity, and the fragility and complexity of these social constructs. She integrates values derived from her cultural and religious roots, using this to strengthen or juxtapose her concepts. This is due to her belief in personal and individual insight being a necessity to better ground and substantiate her works.
Chloe also has a background in dance and teaching dance. She believes that this experience has enabled her to gain skills - visualisation, spatial awareness and understanding of the usage of space, patience and layering of elements to create a bigger picture - that is brought over to her visual art journey.
